My friend Tara asked if I could design a small, simple tulip for bridal shower cards. After a few rounds of tweaks, she loves this little guy.
Oysters are weird. But I eat them, and I eat them often. They are silky smooth and taste like the ocean or bay where they lived. I can't get enough.
When I was offered the opportunity to learn to shuck oysters and taste varieties from all over the U.S., I said "yes please!" and may or may not have squealed with joy.
Today I can proudly say that I shucked a Prince Edward Island oyster with no injury or embarrassment! It was an enjoyable experience, and an oyster never tasted so good.
Today my friend Katie asked me to whip up a new address card she could print and mail, as well as email around. She is such an enthusiastic, quirky person that I knew it had to be in bright colors. I referred to kuler for a color palate and simply added some effects in Photoshop to give it some depth and personality. Just like Katie! (Haha ~ there's the cheesy line of the day.)
Enjoy!
Typically when anyone sends me photos of interest I dump them into a generic "pics" folder on my computer. Well, its overloaded with all KINDS of weird stuff, half of which I don't even know why I have. But - I did find an image of the Celtics parade a friend of mine took amidst the crowd.
I thought it would be awesome to make it look like it was a still from a movie and found a cool tut online that taught me just that! (www.ebin.wordpress.com)
Recently a friend of mine asked me to jazz up an image of his grandfather. So I literally played with it for hours to achieve what he asked - - something a little rough around the edges, but really captured his personality. After accidentally closing it out and NOT saving it, (curses to my fast-clicking sensitive mouse!) I think my second version is WAY better anyway. He and his family loved it!
